What Happens In Vegas ......

As part of our comittment to further learning and continued improvement, we are all heading to one of the largest vet conferences on the earth in Las Vegas! Why the USA? Well unlike Australia, it is common in the USA to run veterinary conferences that cater to the needs of vets, vet nurses and practice managers all under one roof. In Australia, these conferences are run seperately which creates a somewhat disjointed delivery of continuing education. One conference with streams for everyone, allows us all to be "on the same page", giving us a chance to learn together and exchange ideas easily from day to day.

Secondly, it is more affordable to attend conferences in the USA than Australia, even after allowing for airfares. A mind boggling concept, but I have now attended 4 overseas conferences over the past 4 years and this has been correct in every case. This conference boasts over 21 streams at any one time with over a 1000 hours of learning to choose from, along with a trade hall with 500+ exhibitors.

Thirdly, I am convinced we have the best staff in the world. Not only are they committed and caring, but they all want to advance their knowledge so thay can do an even better job looking after you and your pet. So this comes as a reward for all their good work, it offers an enormous opportunity for professsional growth, with the added benefit of further improving the "Devoted Veterinary Care" that is our catchphrase at the Bellingen Vet Hospital. Ultimately it is our patients and their owners who will reap the greatest benefits. Indeed everyone is a winner.

From a practical perspective, we are suggesting if you require any routine veterinary attention or supplies (e.g. vaccinations, dentals, food, flea/tick, or prescription meds), please either come if before 1/3/17 or after 13/3/17. We will be here on both of those days, but anticipate lots of panic activity and jet lag.

For more urgent matters, please call your nearest preferred veterinarian and we can pick up any ongoing cases when we return.

Please may I take this opportunity to thank you for for your consideration, along with our sincere thanks for choosing the "team" at the Bellingen Vet Hospital to care for your pets.

Finally, in Jodi's words "this time what happens in Vegas, will definitely not stay in Vegas!!!"

Regards,

Mark Crane.
